# About Us & Mathematical Methodology

> Learn about JustPaycheck.com, our mission to provide zero-friction paycheck math, and our deterministic 2026 IRS and 50-state tax methodology.

Our Mission & Architecture
# Precision Paycheck Math.Zero Ad Bloat. Zero Delays.

JustPaycheck was created to solve a persistent annoyance on the web: existing paycheck calculators (like ADP, SmartAsset, and Calculator.net) are bloated with 20-field forms, intrusive pop-ups, slow server-rendered reloads, and mandatory lead capture paywalls.

## The "Zero-Friction" Hub Model

Inspired by single-purpose utility platforms like iLovePDF, JustPaycheck strips away the friction. Users adjust a single intuitive "Magic Slider" and see take-home pay, federal taxes, state taxes, and FICA withholding re-calculated dynamically with zero page reloads.

## Our Mathematical Methodology (Tax Year 2026)

Our calculation engine is deterministic and isomorphic. It computes paycheck math using statutory formulas:

- Standard Deductions (2026): $16,100 Single, $32,200 Married Filing Jointly, $24,150 Head of Household.
- FICA - Social Security: 6.2% withholding capped precisely at the 2026 wage base of $184,500 (maximum employee withholding of $11,439).
- FICA - Medicare: 1.45% base rate across all wages + 0.9% Additional Medicare tax for single earnings over $200,000 ($250,000 for married couples).
- 50-State Tax Codes: 9 zero-income tax states (TX, FL, NV, WA, TN, SD, AK, WY, NH), flat tax states (PA, IL, NC, IN, etc.), and progressive bracket systems (CA, NY, NJ, HI, etc.), including California SDI (1.1%) and local Maryland county piggybacks.
